Britain is a country whose old men say "Happy Birthday" to Faye Dunaway whose American beauty beguiled them when they were young men

Faye is 70 years old today. I remember her in her role as 'Bonnie Parker' in the 1967 movie 'Bonnie and Clyde'. I saw it with my friend K.M. when we were students living in Brighton. We were both 20 and Faye was 26.

What I and possibly you, didn't know about Faye was that she :

* was born in Bascom, Florida, of Irish, Scottish and German descent and her father was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army.

* attended the University of Florida, graduated in 'theatre' and 1962, joined the American National Theater and Academy.

* appeared on Broadway in 1962 as the daughter of Thomas More in 'A Man for All Seasons' and had her first screen role in 1967 in 'The Happening' which was followed by 'Hurry Sundown' and 'Bonnie and Clyde' which earned her an Oscar nomination.

* was busy in the 1970's, in 'Three Days of the Condor', 'Little Big Man', 'Chinatown', 'The Three/Four Musketeers', 'Eyes of Laura Mars', and 'Network' for which she won the 'Academy Award for Best Actress' as the scheming TV executive, Diana Christensen.
